Sadie Grey Murphy is an award winning director, writer, cinematographer, and editor.
Born in New York and raised in Norwalk, Connecticut, Sadie made her first film (a stop motion animation) at the age of seven. She has been a serious dancer her whole life, where she has learned the importance of discipline, collaboration, and hard work in creating art; Sadie has found a love for directing through choreography… enjoying the process of working with people, having a vision, and seeing that vision come to life. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Film and Television at New York University with a minor in Creative Writing.
In the past few years, she has made over 20 different short films and is continuing her docu-series on New York artists called “Lunch with a New Yorker”. She also worked to write, film, and edit a feature-length Vietnam War film called “Napalm Dreams” in the Spring of 2025. Sadie started her own production company, ‘Melted Ice Cream Films’, in 2022, which she hopes to grow with her future film endeavors. Her award winning films have been screened internationally in Canada, France, Germany, Denmark, Japan, and at home, in the USA.
